caacQ honors Veterinary Care Teams that help animal shelters.

The Companion Animal Adoption Centers of Quebec (caacQ) is launching a recognition program that will honor Veterinary Care Teams that help animal shelters. Johanne Tasse ,of the caacQ, explained that the veterinary care teams working together with shelters for pets in Quebec are sometimes not valued enough through the traditional veterinary community. Therefore, the program “Club Museau à Cœur” is born.

In the United States, Shelter Veterinary Medicine is widely recognized. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), veterinarians who work with or for shelters are increasingly aware and appreciative of the special knowledge and skills required to design a successful shelter health care program.

In the USA, communities are known for recognizing the veterinarians and their teams that give a helping hand to rescues and shelters.

“The caacQ to honor those teams who have heart who choose to be part of the solution and integrate our community has greatly needs them,” said Ms. Tasse. Regularly and at the request of people, the caacQ will give a plaque recognizing the team’s commitment.

For example, two f the teams that have received the “Club Museau à Cœur” title are Hopital Vétérinaire De L’Est and Clinique Vétérinaire Jarry.

Recognition and inspiration go hand in hand. Montreal Dog Blog wishes “Club Museau à Cœur” success and we hope that the program inspires so many other vet care teams to get involved with animal rescue and animal shelters. The province of Quebec is in great need of animal medical practitioners that remember the oath that they promised to respect when they decided to follow the profession.
