Everyday that I tweet I have to tweet for The Animal Rescue Site. I remind all my followers to click once on a purple button to help feed those that have no fault for being abandoned in a shelter. Some may click or some may not click. But,to me, at least a few clicks is better than none. For every click the site donates .6 bowls of food for rescued animals. The Animal Rescue Site is part of the Greater Good Network; an independent charitable organization. Since 1999, the GreaterGood Network has raised and given more than $20 million dollars to charities across the United States and around the world.
The Animal Rescue Site not only provides with food for animal shelters by just clicking. Each year they have The Animal Rescue $300, 000 Challenge for whichever rescue gets the more votes. It is the start of 2011 and it is about time that a shelter from Quebec wins! Each day I click for a Rescue here in Quebec and each time I check the daily results I get so discouraged. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I am happy that other rescues in Canada are getting the money. What discourages me is that Quebec can not do like the people of those other Canadian cities that are united and they all take the time as a community to click to provide a little something to the shelter of their liking.
These are the top 10 shelters across Canada by percentage of Votes:
Sad, huh? Not a single Shelter from Quebec makes it to the list. That is why I ask people if they can spare the time to click once a day to show some support for the rescue of their liking? Here are all the rescues participating in the Challenge:
So there they are. I give no preference to a single organization. They all deserve all the help they can get. People are free to vote for their favorite rescue. Why not get your friends and family members to vote? Please click here to cast your vote and help our local rescue shelters. A fellow twitter comrade of mine that lives in Ontario tweeted today: Before you make your next donation to a nation wide group, check out your local no kill shelter. They are all desperate & deserving –@kam75
