Ever since I could talk I’ve always wanted a dog and finally when I was 16 years old I got my first dog.
Mcgwire (an akita mix) from the moment I saw him I knew he was something special, it was love at first sight he was and still is everything to me.
Mcgwire wasn’t the easiest dog to handle, he only seemed to trust me. He was a vets nightmare and to take him to a professional grooming salon for a little pampering was completely out of the question.
I had to learn how to groom him on my own and although I had taught myself the basics of grooming I wanted to learn more.
I went to a professional dog grooming school where I studied all breed dog grooming.
I was also lucky to be able to take my pooch to school with me so he can get used to becoming a “shop dog”.
Mcgwire now had a job and I was well on my way to building my life around my dog and doing what I love.
I didn’t want to be just any dog groomer I wanted to set myself apart from the rest, not only did I want to master all breed standard haircuts, I wanted to create an “at home” environment for my clients pets.
I wanted my clients and their pets to feel safe and comfortable in my grooming salon, after all they were entrusting me with there precious little ones.
I am happy to say 7 years later I am continuing my dream and inspiring others to follow theirs.
There is nothing more rewarding in doing what you love especially working with animals they have so much to teach us, to me this is only the beginning of a life long journey in helping animals and their people.
I look forward to writing my blogs on the Montreal Dog Blog and hope I can answer some questions you may have on pet grooming.
I believe that in keeping with your pets grooming it is just as important as keeping up with their health and diet.
A clean pet is a happy and healthy one!
