HOLIDAY UPDATES!
One of the best things about being in rescue and celebrating the holidays is knowing that so many of our cats are warm and cozy in their forever homes. This year, we made a very special request to the families that have adopted cats from us, asking them all to send us updated photos of the PetitsPawz cats enjoying their new lives. We were overwhelmed with the response and all of the photos we received. Nothing makes us happier than knowing that our cats are safe and in loving homes. This is why we do what we do. We face heartache in rescue, but its these very stories that show us that we MUST continue with our mission. We hope that you all enjoy them just as much as we did!
Dusty is gearing up for his first holiday season in his forever home. He was with PetitsPawz for over two years before he was adopted. Here he is in his favourite spot! Rosa and Indy were adopted together just a couple of weeks ago. Here they are, enjoying their new life as an officially bonded pair! Remember Harry? He has been rocking it in his forever home! Funny Harry dresses up for every occasion, including the holidays. For Harry, life is an adventure and he keeps his parents (and kitty siblings) entertained every day! Little Elf Muggins was sterilized through us and is enjoying this holiday season even though he looks rather grumpy in this photo. HO! HO! HO! Kotka was officially adopted by her foster mom and for the very first time she will be ringing in the new year in her FOREVER home! Kotka will always remain one of our favourite adoption stories as she was adopted after three years of being with us! Boomer (formally Echo) loves her spot in front of the heater. She was adopted a couple of months ago and this is her first holiday season with her parents. Look at how much she has grown! Many of you fell in love with Billy (right) when he was with us. He was adopted in 2012, so this is Billy’s second holiday season with his family and friends. We would like to send a very special thank you to Nicole and Guy, who are temporarily homing Billy as well as his sister Sasha while their mom works out of province. As long as Billy and Sasha stay together, they are happy! Ollie was adopted as an orphan kitten and was bottle fed by his mom Debbie. Here he is, putting on his best “shame” face for the camera. Don’t worry! Once the photo was taken, he was off to cause more kitty trouble (payback to his mom for dressing him up!). Happy Holidays to Ollie and his family!! Do you recognize Mr. Foster Boo (formally Lucky) ?? We is growing up to be such a gorgeous boy! Foster Boo has been with his parents Kari and Michael since he was just ten days old and here he is, celebrating his very first Holiday season! George (previously Major) was being fostered with nine other kittens this summer and his foster family decided that they could not bare seeing him go. They made him an official part of their family. A few weeks ago, George had a big health scare and we were all very concerned. After receiving intensive care under the watchful eye of his outstanding mom Lisa, he is now healthy and back to his old playful self just in time for the holidays. He has been doing backflips off of that tree! Isn’t this the kind of photo that just melts your heart? Remember Sweet Pea (formally Momma)? She had six kittens over the summer, yet she was still one of the first to be adopted, which is so rare for our mom cats! This is Sweet Pea with the love of her life: Her dad Peter. She spent the last two holiday seasons outside in frigid temperatures with no one to love her, so THIS year is extra special for both Sweet Pea and her parents Peter and Tara. Booker (previously Valentino) looks just like his mom Klara with that gorgeous black spot on his nose! This is his very first holiday season and we have no doubts (being the only child) that he is going to be spoiled rotten by his dad Jack and the rest of the family who adores him so. Go get ’em Booker! Gus (previously Charlot) was originally transferred to us from a high kill pound and was adopted during the summer of 2012. His mom Mary-Jane and her son Sam traveled across the border from Vermont to adopt him and it was love at first sight! This year will be Gus’ second holiday season in his forever home and we are wishing him and his entire family all the best in the year to come! Scarlett and Mr. Jinx were semi feral kittens rescued at around five months old. They were adopted together a year ago and just recently celebrated their first adoption anniversary. Poesje (previously Charlie) was living a life of fear before finding her current home. She lived in a house with many other cats that bullied her and she was forced to live under a bed. Her owner loved her but was overwhelmed with the number of animals she had. Circumstances made it difficult for her owner to keep all the cats in her care and she reached out for help. Once Poesje was in our care, Nicole and Guy stepped up right away to foster her. They worked with her and gave love, affection and most importantly, time and patience. For the very first time, Poesje began living freely. Nicole and Guy also decided that she wasn’t leaving them, making her adoption official in 2010! Flash forward more than three years later, and Poesje is the Queen of the household! Happy Anniversary Rikki! It’s been a year since Rikki was adopted from PetitsPawz. He came to our home as a timid little guy named Luis. Although still a little wary, he has come out of his shell big time! He shares his space with his two kitty friends, Tequila and Hermione, and a no-nonsense minpin named Gypsy. Star is wishing everyone a happy New Year! This little girl is happy to be spending the holidays with her sister Moon and her mom and dad! Baby Girl was just recently rescued and this is her first holiday in foster care. 2014 is already looking great for her!!
FROM THE ENTIRE TEAM AT PETITSPAWZ, WE ARE WISHING EVERYONE A VERY HAPPY 2014!!!!
