For a second year, the Montreal SPCA invites all animal lovers to join the Walk On All 4s on September 23, 2012. This dog walk aims to help the SPCA raise funds to continue its mission, as well as to heighten awareness and inform the public on the many benefits of adopting an animal at the SPCA.
This year, the Montreal SPCA is shooting to reach the goal of $ 25,000, which they desperately need. The Montreal SPCA welcomes over 14,000 abandoned animals annually and they rely almost exclusively on donations from the public to carry out their work.
This fundraiser will also support the undertakings of the emergency shelter, newly known as “l’Annexe”. Founded in 2008 by staff members of the SPCA, l’Annexe is a unique program that helps large groups of animals brought in from puppy mills seizures and extreme hoarding situations, along with animals that have special needs (behavioral or medical), animals awaiting transfer to rescue or other shelters, and animals waiting for adoption when we no longer have space at the main SPCA shelter. To date, over 1,500 animals have been rescued thanks to this program.
You can contribute to the Walk On All 4s in three ways: by walking, by sponsoring a participant, or by making a direct donation. For full details, visit the website at www.marchedes4pattes.com
