This is a big step in protecting our companion animals in Quebec! Earlier this summer, Quebecers were encouraged to participate in a letter-writing campaign to make changes to new proposed regulations regarding animal welfare in this province. In the end, more than 1900 of you took the proactive step to do so. As a result:

More than 1,900 people have commented on the first draft of the regulations on the welfare of dogs and cats, published in June, and have expressed their suggestions to MAPAQ. The regulations will be adjusted on the basis of the constructive proposals that have been made and it will return to the Council of Ministers for approval and implemented in the coming months.

Plus de 1 900 personnes ont commenté la première ébauche du règlement sur le bien-être des chiens et chats, publiée en juin, et ont fait part de leurs suggestions au MAPAQ. Le règlement va être ajusté sur la base des propositions constructives qui auront été faites et ça va revenir au Conseil des ministres pour approbation et mis en œuvre dans les prochains mois. »
